With all this waiting- and waiting, and waiting- to get to Hawaii, we have to keep in mind that life doesn't stand still. We still have children who don't need zombies as parents and we still have to make their days fun and productive. So here's a look at what we've been doing in the meantime...
This afternoon we had a Play-Doh making competition in the back yard.
Marcus started off strong with a Play-Doh Man.
Sierra really liked it :).
I countered with a blue giraffe.
We decided it looked better as a nose.

Next came the Elephant competition.
I made a blue elephant.

Charlie and Daddy teamed up to make a pink elephant.

Here's our side-by-side comparison.

Charlie and Daddy teamed up to make a pink elephant.

Here's our side-by-side comparison.

Although I think mine has better detail, I really like the color they chose. Also Charlie made all 4 legs by herself and that counts for a lot in my book! Especially considering the fact that their elephant could stand on his legs and mine could not- As you can see Marcus held mine up, removed his hand just before the second picture was snapped, and my elephant collapsed right after.
Unbeknownst to us, while we were busy making elephants Sierra was making Play-Doh sauce.
Sierra- Cute! Play-Doh sauce- Gross.
Charlie made this last elephant all by herself.
I think it's the best one of the afternoon.

I agree that the pink and red final elephant of the day is far superior to those that came before. Your giraffe was cool though.
Girl- I don't know how the both of you are doing this while keeping 2 little girls happy. You are my new hero!!
Awwww Nikkie. I was just beginning to wonder how the girls were handling all this. As a parent of a little one, I can only imagine the excitement they have at the prospect of an exciting plane trip and the confusion they must be feeling, all the questions, etc. So great that you two are making their wait time as much fun as it could be. I know your girls are great, but I know even their patience has to be being tested by now. I hope your next blog tells about how smooth your flight was! Luv you cuz, and stay positive. give them big hugs and kisses from me.
Ahki
PS. did you do something with your bangs? They look good!
@ Dana- I gotta give Charlie & Marcus all the credit for that one, Play-Doh in the backyard was their idea. The giraffe on point.
@ Ahki- They're okay. Charlie just keeps asking when we're gonna get to Grandma's house. She doesn't understand what all the going and coming is about. When we left the terminal yesterday she said, "We were supposed to go to Grandma's house and that boy didn't keep his promise." Marcus had to explain that the boy (in uniform) didn't intentionally break his promise (that we'd get on the plane), it's just that sometimes things happen that are beyond our control and it wasn't his fault. Anyway hopefully we'll make it today.
Hopefully.
Well...I am assuming that you guys made it on the plane...because I haven't gotten a phone call...lol. Love the play elephants...you all got talent. Have a safe trip and don't forget the FlipFold...lol!!
I have saved some shirts to practice...
